The proliferation of technology and the increasing significance of data in decision-making mean that businesses of all sizes and types have to grapple with data privacy, which can create unnecessary frictions and bottlenecks if not done correctly. The answers to privacy issues business face are rarely black and white, and in my role as privacy counsel, I help businesses pick the right shade of grey that strikes a good balance between compliance and risk. It is something I very much enjoy doing because the context in which privacy issues arise differ from one business to another, and it is the diversity of the context which makes the task of solving privacy issues interesting and rewarding
